Robert Earl Dougan, 60, of Denton, Texas, died Monday, December 1, 1997, in Columbia Medical Center in Lewisville, Texas.

Mr. Dougan was born June 27, 1937, in Nevada County to Floyd T. and Modena Martin Dougan. He was a retired mechanic and truck driver. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy Dougan of Denton, Texas; three sons, Robert Earl Dougan Jr., of Lewisville, Texas, Billy Dougan of Plano, Texas, and Steve Dougan of Arlington, Texas; one daughter, Deborah Janice Dougan Starnes of Denton, Texas; his mother, Modena Martin "Snoopy" Dougan of Hope; seven brothers, Berthal Dougan, Texarkana, Texas, Kenny Dougan of Hope, Jimmy Dougan of Hope, Marty Dougan of Texarkana, Texas, Waymon Dougan of Hope, Harold Dougan of Houston, Texas, and Charles Dougan of Lewisville, Texas; four sisters, Clara Sue McCain of Houston, Texas, Patricia Yeverton of Hope, Alice Ross of Hope and Carolyn Williams of Nashville; 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were Thursday, December 4, at the Hope Church of Christ with John Cannon and Harley Sisson officiating. Burial was in Snell Cemetery in Emmet. Arrangements were under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Chapel Funeral Home of Hope.
