Double 'C' EHC

Published Wednesday, December 24, 1997 in the Nevada County Picayune

The Double 'C' Extension Club met at the Western Sizzlin at Hope December 10 at 6:30 p.m. There were four Elves, Ruby Wicker, Margie Reed, Bonnie Barham and Mary Reeves, to greet everyone.

There was a table for the exchange gifts. Gifts for secret pals were put under a beautiful Christmas Tree. The room was decorated with green roping and red bows on each light, red bows on each window, the table had red napkins on a white table cloth and red poinsettias on the piano.

Each person was given a sack with a small gift in it as Ruby Wicker read a poem, when she came to the word the, each person passed the sack to the next person. At the end of the poem each one kept the gift that they had. Everyone had lots of fun.

Heather Calicott, with her beautiful voice, sang two very pretty songs.

Bonnie Barham asked the blessing. There was 16 members served, plus the agent, Candace Carrie, from the Extension Homemakers office.

Members were served turkey and dressing with all of the trimmings.

They visited with friends and then departed with wonderful Christmas spirit.
