Golden Oldies

Hope everyone has been enjoying the beautiful weather we have been having. I really am.

Martha Bearden, activity director at the Gurdon Senior Citizen Center, and her husband, Lawrence, have taken a trip to Arizona. We miss her when she is gone.

Beatrice Stafford played the piano on Thursday so the senior adults could sing. They were the old hymns that I grew up hearing. On Friday Lloyd Baumgardner sang for the seniors. We really appreciate them doing this for the center.

October is fast drawing to a close. October 25-29 we will play bingo, have music by Bro. Shults, have income utilization, ghost stories, and a Halloween and birthday party.

Martha is making plans for the month of November.

The center really appreciates the staff that we have. They are Charlotte Shepherd, county coordinator, Naomi Brown, site supervisor, Martha Bearden, activity director, Barbara Weems, head cook, and the rest of the staff.

Come out and join us. The center extends an invitation to all those over 60. The center is a program of

Central Arkansas Development Council and a United Way agency.
