Kermit Bowen

Kermit Bowen, 88, of La Mesa, Calif., died Wed., Oct. 13, 1999.

Mr. Bowen was born in Bowen, attended Gurdon High School and at age 17 enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served from 1929 until 1936. In 1940 he married Fern Clark to whom he was married for 59 years. A retired draftsman and inventor, he held patents for a musical instrument and several drafting machines.

Survivors include his wife, Fern Bowen; a daughter, Margaret Lang, of San Diego, Calif.; two grandsons, Christopher and Michael Lang; a brother, Marvin Bowen; and four nephews and one niece.

Services will be held Sun., Oct. 31, at 2:30 p.m. at Center Grove United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Center Grove Church.
