Traczewitz Named To Childhood PanelPublished Wednesday, December 23, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneState Sen. Mike Ross of Prescott has designated Prissy Traczewitz of Prescott to the Arkansas Early Childhood Commission. Traczewitz is the director of the Nevada County Day Service Center, which originally served children with developmental disabilities and in 1994 integrated other children into the center by adding Bright Beginnings Day Care. She has a bachelor's degree in psychology and pre-social work from Louisiana Tech at Ruston and a master's degree in social work from Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge. "Ms. Traczewitz is a strong advocate for children and has a keen awareness of children's issues," Ross said. "The state of Arkansas is fortunate that she is willing to serve on the Early Childhood Commission." Ross, as chairman of the Joint Committee on Children and Youth, is authorized to serve on the commission or to designate a replacement to serve in his stead. He said it was an easy decision to choose Ms. Traczewitz, because of her qualifications, her commitment to improving child care and her compassion. "Everyone who knows her can tell you that, for her, working with children is a true labor of love," Ross said. She is on the board of First Presbyterian Pre-School at Prescott.
