Pershing and Mary Cox and Ann Wylie from Hope spent Monday in Little Rock seeing their doctor and visiting Pershing's sisters, Hazel and Mary Jewel Powell, and their families.

Julene and Willie Hulan surprised their son, Thomas, with a birthday dinner on Tuesday night. Those attending were Thomas and wife, Linda and two daughters, Kim and Ashlie, Bud, Sandy and Shanna Loe, and Julene's brother and his wife, and Paul and Audrey Curtis from Emerson, who spent the night.

All I can say for the United States Senate is that it opens with a prayer and closes with an investigation.
