Neoma Ward

Neoma M. Ward, 76, of Hope, died Thursday, January 29, 1998, at Heather Manor South Nursing Home in Hope.

Mrs. Ward was born January 10, 1922, in Nevada County to John and Phronia Arterbury Barham. She was a retired school teacher of 41 years with both the Hope and Laneburg School Districts. She was a member of Forrest Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by her husband, Dervin Ward, one daughter, Allie Mae Jone and by a grandson, Clay Ward.

Survivors include one son, Carl D. Ward of Hope; one brother, John William Barham of Emmet; two sisters, Vivian Alford of Hope and Rosa Nell Whatley of DeAnn; three grandchildren, Mike McBride of Hope, Sandy Gilbey of Spring Hill and Deanna Ward of Hope; and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were Saturday, January 31, at Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel of Hope with Rev. Rodney Langston and Glen Cannon officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hope under the direction of Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.
