Queen Esther Block

Queen Esther Block, 78, of Prescott died Saturday, January 24, at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas.

Mrs. Block was born March 7, 1919, in Rosston to A.C. and Pearl Alexander Latin. She was a retired janitor at Potlatch. She was a member of Shady Grove Methodist Church in Emmet. Mrs. Block was preceded in death by her husband, R.C. Block, who died in 1997.

Survivors include six sons, Dan Lous Block of Rockford, Ill., Robert Block Jr., and Thomas Block of Troy, Ohio, Ricky Block and Freddy Block of Prescott and Kenneth Block of Hope; five daughters, Opal Hall, Gladys Block, Estelle Tidwell and May Bell Samuel of Prescott and Carolyn Sue Bozman of Jacksonville; two brothers, Charlie William Latin and J.T. Latin of Rockford, Ill.; and three sisters, Joyce Evelyn Smith of Rockford, Ill., Mary Gulley of Prescott and Galvesta Lindsey of Emerson.

Funeral services were Saturday, January 31, at Munn's Chapel Baptist Church in Prescott with Rev. Edward Hampton officiating. Burial was in Snell Cemetery in Emmet under the direction of Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
