Alcoholics Anonymous, a fellowship of men and women who wish to stop drinking, meets every Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church.

Al-Anon, for those affected by another's drinking, meets Thursday

evenings at 8:00 in the church. For more information call 887-5991.

Narcotics Anonymous now meets in Gurdon at the Presbyterian Church on Tuesdays and Fridays from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. For more information, call 353-6612.

Moms-In Touch prayer group for schools meets at 9 a.m. on Tuesdays at First Baptist Church. Call 887-6376 for additional information.

A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be in Prescott in the Social Security room in the courthouse on Thursday, May 28, and Thursday, June 25, from 9 a.m. until 12:00 noon.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind children. To find out if you are eligible, call 1-800-772-1213.

The Home Instruction Program for Preschool Youngster's (HIPPY) is now taking applications for the 1998-99 school year.

If your child will be 3 or 4 by September 15, you can enroll him in this home based program that is of no cost to the public. All materials are furnished free. If you would like more information on enrolling your child in HIPPY, you can do so by calling 887-3651 or 887-6743.

The Wyatt Harris family descendants reunion will be held at the Prescott Housing Authority on Hale Avenue Saturday, May 16, at 10 a.m. Picnic lunch will be served at noon. All relatives and friends are invited.

The Blevins annual school reunion will be held at Western Sizzlin in Hope in the banquet room on Saturday, May 16, beginning at 2:30 p.m. with refreshments and visiting. A Dutch-treat buffet will be served at 6:30 p.m. All associated with the Blevins school through the years are invited.

Jaime Candace, Alex and Lucas Nassar of Richboro, Penn., are proud to announce the arrival of their son and brother, Jorge Samuel, born Monday, May 4, 1998. He weighed 7 pounds and 13 ounces and measured 20 inches long.

Grandparents are Jorge Nassar of Prescott and Mercedes Nassar of Houston, Texas.

Commodities will be issued on June 18 at the Senior Citizens Center in Prescott. Your card must be re-evaluated before commodities can be received.

Brenda Christopher and Charles Walker of Prescott are proud to announce the birth of their son, Brandon Deshawn Walker, born Monday, May 4, 1998. He weighed 6 pounds and 2 ounces and was 20 inches long.

There will be homecoming at Bluff Springs Baptist Church Sunday, May 17, beginning at 10:30 a.m. A devotional will be given by Randy Cox followed by morning worship with Bro. Michael Hight, pastor, bringing the message.

Lunch will follow in the fellowship hall. There will be singing in the afternoon with special guests, The Ambassadors, and more.

Mt Zion of Prescott will be having its annual women's day program May 17 at 2 p.m. Missionary H.Y. Butt of Florida will be the guest speaker. She is the mother of Rev. Joe Battle.

The Cooperative Extension Service and HeartWatch will sponsor an introductory meeting on weight-reduction and exercise for persons with hypertension, heart disease or diabetes.

The meeting is Thursday, May 14, at 1:15 at New Beginning Full Gospel Baptist Church, 113 Elm Street. All interested persons are invited to attend. For more information, call 887-2818.

Southwest Arkansas Planning and Development District will hold a meeting of the board of directors Wednesday, May 20, at the district office, 600 Bessie Street, Magnolia. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

Antioch Baptist Church of Lane-burg will hold its annual home-coming services May 17 at 10:30 a.m. Devotional will be given by Bro. James Bryant, and the message by Bro. Edward McCulough. Lunch will be served. Singing will be in the afternoon.

Revival services will be May 18 through May 22 at 7:30 p.m. each night. Bro. James Bryant is the pastor and evangelist.

Missionary Grove Baptist Church will have its annual Homecoming Sunday, May 17. Dexter Blevins of Norman, Okla., will be the guest speaker. Services begin at 10:30 a.m.

Daryl Tidwell, graduate of Oak Grove High School, will have a book signing at the Prescott Housing Authority Thursday, May 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to come.
