Jennifer Bryan a senior at Prescott High School has been awarded an academic scholarship at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope.

The scholarship is based upon at ACT score and grade point average plus a recommendation from a school official.

Bryan is the daughter of Danny and Debra McDaniel and Michael Bryan of Prescott.

She will be pursuing an associate of arts degree general education.

Beth Oleta Culpepper of Prescott High School has been named a top high school senior by the Arkansas Times.

Culpepper, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Duncan Culpepper, was one of 20 students named Friday, May 8, in the newspaper's fourth annual Academic All-Stars Awards edition.

The students were honored with a reception last Friday afternoon from 3:00 to 4:00 in the Donaghey Student Center at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

In addition to recognition in the paper, the 20 students also received $250 scholarship awards. The scholarship fund was created by generous contributions, including $2,000 from UALR, a 'Gold' sponsor of the event.
