Lee John GillardPublished Wednesday, May 13, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneLee John Gillard, 65, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Prescott, died Wednesday, May 6, 1998. Mr. Gillard was born July 21, 1932, in Dallas. He was a janitor at Steven Park's Elementary School in Dallas for 18 years. Mr. Gillard was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Annerlene Gillard. He was a member of St. Luke A.M.E. Church. Survivors include his wife, Emma Anderson Gillard of Dallas; two sons, Larry Walker of Prescott and Gary Gillard of Dallas; three daughters, Takiessa M. Anderson of Garland, Texas, Linda J. Snowden of Ferris, Texas, and Carolyn Wilson of St. Louis, Mo.; four brothers, Earnest Gillard of St. Paul, Minn., and Eddie Gillard, Tony Gillard and Fernando Gillard all of Prescott; a step brother Larry Frazier of Prescott; five sisters, Marlene Ware of Minneapolis, Minn., Mary Sandifer of St. Paul Minn., Jessie Hall of Detroit Mich., and Phyllis Henderson and Sonja Gillard of Prescott; his stepmother, Effie Gillard of Prescott; two step sisters, Annette Kirby and Ruth Bryant of Prescott; and step daughter Matreka Anderson of Dallas. Funeral services were Sunday, May 10, at Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church in Prescott with Rev. Kenneth Snowden officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hicks Funeral Home of Hope.
