This is the day the Lord has made and let's rejoice and be glad in it.

I rode down to Mt. Vernon with Mrs. Benora Box to hear Al Yarbough preach his first sermon. He really had it together. His text was 'Running Preacher.' The church was full and the pulpit was full of preachers. Our presiding elder, Rev. Thomas Adiare, was there. He said he will get his license later this month. Let's pray for him. We need some young men; our older preachers are dying out.

Mrs. Rena Tidwell was our guest at Bethel Sunday morning. She taught Sunday school. She really is a willing worker. We need her in our church. Calvin Tidwell is her husband. His brother and sister-in-law bought the Jenkins estate. He is a hard working young man. If you need some carpet laid, see him. He has a good garden. His wife works at Camden. She is a good person. We are glad to have them in our community.

Mrs. Corine Morgan is in Hillcrest Care and Rehab in Prescott.

Mrs. Vera Purifoy had to have all of her teeth pulled (in a Texarkana hospital). I hated her to be in the hospital by herself. Her sister, Clearice Henry of Milwaukee, Wis., came to stay with her for two weeks.

May 19 will soon be here. Don't forget to go to the polls and vote.
