RedlandHazel MeeksPublished Wednesday, May 13, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune We still need rain real badly, but so thankful to miss all the thunder storms. Our deepest sympathy to the Jimmy Rinkle family. He was the son of the late Marcus and Fannie Rinkle, who lived in our community many years. Betty Winters and friend, Jim Robertson, from Dallas, Texas, visited Betty's mother, Lucy Taylor, at Hillcrest Care Center. Sorry to report Grant Golden, son of Gary and Gawyn Golden, was badly injured in a motorcycle accident on Friday. No internal injuries, but his leg was broken in two places and his collar bone was broken. Billie Ann Gas spent most of last week with her mother, Allene Taylor. She was called home, because of the illness of her husband. Neil's brother, Doyle, and his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Werner Schmitt, from Longview, Texas, visited us on Saturday. Mozelle Gill from Hillcrest Care Center is spending several days in Little Rock with her daughter, Jackie Lucas, and Carolyn Cullins. The main thing she's doing is seeing her doctors. Mary Cox has returned home after a trip through Texas with her daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Dale Wylie. First, they were in Temple, Texas, at Scott White Clinic where Dale goes for annual check ups. Next, they visited Mary's 95-year-old brother, Ivan Hilde-brand and daughter, Shirley, at Round Rock, Texas. They spent Friday night with Mary's daughter and son-in-law, Beau and Cathy Straley, in Lewisville, near Dallas. They returned home on Saturday. Last week, Deanie and Bill Luck and their son, Russell, and a friend, Michelle Higgins, from Mt. Pleasant, Texas, ate with Jackie and Francis Bidwell, and on Mother's Day Nell and Howard McDaniel from Monroe, La., and Pat and Don Ingersoll had lunch with Jackie and Francis. Congratulations to our two graduates at Shady Grove Baptist Church. They are Andy Taylor and Aaron Ratcliff. Don't forget another one of our girls who has moved and joined Boughton Baptist Church. She is Tina Kisselburg Egger. Congratulations to all of them. Sunday, May 31, from 2 to 4 p.m. a reception will be held in the Liberty Church fellowship hall for Jack and Ruby Bidwell to show our love and appreciation for what they mean to the community. They will be moving soon to be near their children. Everyone is invited to attend. No gifts please. There will be a container provided for cards and notes to express your love and appreciation for them. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
