Local Students To Receive Leadership Awards

Traci L. Hughes and Willie Health Miller, both of Prescott, were recently named as two of five students to receive the Student Leader of the Year Award at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia.

The Student Leader of the Year Award is presented to no more than five students whose leadership has had far-reaching impact on their organizations as well as the SAU student body.

The recipients have significantly improved the performance of their organization through their outstanding organizational skills, completed a particular project or program which had an impact on the University, demonstrated out-standing personal leadership skills which have impacted other organizations and maintained exceptional scholastic achievement while excelling in the performance of organizational responsibilities.

Hughes, a 1995 graduate of Prescott High School, is a junior business administration major with an emphasis in accounting and financial planning.

She is the daughter of Michael and Terri Hughes of Prescott.

Miller, also a 1995 graduate of Prescott, is a junior kinesiology major.

He is the son of Joe and Brenda Miller of Prescott.
