Prescott Graduation Is Friday; Top PHS Seniors Are Named for '98Published Wednesday, May 13, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe Prescott High School highest honor graduates for the 1997-98 graduating class were recently announced. In order to receive the distinction, one must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.90 to 4.0 by the end of the first semester of his/her senior year. This year's highest honor graduates are as follows: Andy Almand, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Almand; Jana Barfield, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cleve Barfield; Melissa Beavert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Danny Beavert; Jennifer Bryan, daughter of Mr. Mike Bryan and Mrs. Debbie McDaniel; Amy Farrar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oval Farrar; and Al Johnston, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Johnston are the students receiving recognition. Striving for academic excellence is a worthy goal and these students are to be commended for striving for and reaching this award of great distinction. Maintaining a 3.89 to 3.50 cumulative grade point by the end of the first semester of the senior year qualifies a student to be recognized as an honor graduate. These students have been identified as Prescott High School's honor graduates for this year's senior class. They are: Beth Culpepper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Duncan Culpepper; Lindsay Franks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Franks; Tamra Marlar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Marlar; Jason Morrow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Morrow; Ada Nixon, daughter of Mrs. Gloria Flenory; Melanie Reitzell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Crumley; and Jessie Ward, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ned Ward.
