Pam Box is running for the office of Nevada County Tax Assessor.

She has been working in the office for the past three years and is currently the chief deputy.

"I enjoy it," she said. "I like working here. I like doing (property) deeds and meeting people.

"I've been concentrating on getting out and meeting people and haven't thought about any plans for the office if I'm elected."

Box said she's certified in five levels through the Arkansas Assessment Coordinator's Division and has computer training. She knows how to read deeds and make deed changes.

"I'm the only employee now who knows how to read and change deeds," Box said. "Getting out and meeting people is important, though."

She and her husband, Ronald, have two children, Megan, 8, and Jalen, 5. They are members of Munn's Chapel Baptist Church, where she serves as secretary and is on the usher board.

In her spare time, Box enjoys fishing and spending time with her children.
