Redland NewsPublished Wednesday, January 7, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneIf you wonder why I haven't been writing, I can only say I'm lazy and celebrating Christmas. I will try to fill you in on all the holiday visiting. Mozelle Gill from Hillcrest, Jackie, Doyle and Andy Lucas from Redfield, Norman Gill from Camden, Carolyn Cullens from Little Rock and Mike Chamlee had Christmas dinner with Danny, Cherrie and Katy Wilson. Joy and George Cox hosted a dinner on the 21st for her relatives. Those attending were Vickie and Perry Brantly from Mountain Home, Randy, Monica, Drew and Tyler Avery from Rogers, Lori Paden from Lowell, Rick, Susie and Brad Steelman from Camden, Pete Avery, Louise Willis, Margaret and Jim McBrayer, and Danny, Lisa, Kyle and Caley Pennington all from Prescott. Our family has been saddened over the loss of our dear sister-in-law, Beulah Meeks, from Camden. Irene Riley has broken her hip and is recovering at Hillcrest Care Center. Emily and Amanda Byers from Hope visited Neil and me and the Walter DeYoung family during Christmas. Congratulations to Zane Otwell for being student of the week before getting out for Christmas. Neil and I spent Christmas day with our daughter-in-law, Betty, and her husband, Tim Wilson, our grandkids, Chris, Charity and Casey and their families in Texarkana. Bill and Lela Faye Ridling had their three children, Pat, Mike and Bill Jr., and their families for Christmas day. They had about 20 all together. Neil and I and our grandson, Casey, spent last Tuesday in Longview, Texas, visiting his oldest brother, Doyle, and his seriously ill wife, Elizabeth. Billie Ridling had all her kids and their families Christmas day. Those present were Kim, Terri, Rhonda and Johnny. Outside family were Darren Neal from Hope and Mary Lou and John Cobb from Texarkana. Also visiting during the holidays were her sister, Francis Swift, from Rock Port, Texas, her brother, Mike McClain, and his family from Houston, Texas, and Al and Peggy Butrick from Summit, Miss. Debbie, Roy, Jimmy and Brad Coorville spent Christmas with Leona and Jim Ballard. Jim and Leona celebrated New Year's with Kermit and Audrea Nix having dinner at Little B's. George and Joy Cox enjoyed Danny, Lisa, Kyle and Caley Pennington and Gawyn, Gary, GiGi and Grant Golden from Murfreesboro on Christmas Day. Our friend and neighbor, Wilma Compton, is having heart problems and is in Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
