Sally Johnson of the Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care was at the Gurdon Senior Adult Center January 7. She explained some of the Medicare rules and reasons concerning hospital stays. She and her assistant went through the chain of safe guards that are in place to protect all of Medicare's patients. The seniors responded well to the information and picked up many needed handouts. The Senior Adult Center has the number and address for the foundation if you have problems with Medicare.

Arkansas Eye Surger provided eye screening on January 8 for 20 of our people. We were happy to be receiving these free services and thank Dr. Teed for them.

The Senior Adult Center invites everyone to come in and vote for Valentine King and Queen. Some-one you know and like might be running for king and queen. We have ten people in the running. One penny equals one vote for whom ever you pick. Those running are Loren and Audrey Long, S.T. and Lillian Manson, Harrell and Geneva Everitt. Junior Thrasher and Pauline Nelson, and Bennie and Bernice Freeman. Pick your favorite two-some and give to our wonderful Senior Adult Center. All money taken in goes to the center.

The Gurdon Center will be closed on January 19 for Martin Luther King's birthday. Tuesday, January 20, will be dine out evening.

The Senior Adults who do not attend the center are missing a treat. It's a place, where for a time, you can leave your problems and worries behind and enjoy yourself.

The center is a United Way Agency.
