The 1998 Gurdon Close-Up group will host the first annual Big Winter Follies to be held January 24 in the middle school auditorium. For lots of jokes, music and entertainment, plan to be at the event at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $3 each and can be purchased from any Close-Up student or at the door.

There will be a gospel singing at the First Church of God located on Highway 67 South in Gurdon January 17 at 7:00 p.m. The group Advancers will be the featured guest.

Beirne Rural Fire Department is having a chili supper February 7 from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Beirne Fire Station. The cost will be $5 per plate and refills on chili only. There will be chili, drinks, Fritos, onions and desert. Come on out and support your local fire department. Everyone is welcome.

DeGray area beekeepers will meet January 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Clark County Extension office in Arkadelphia.

Learn to make a table lamp using your favorite soda pop cans as a base at a workshop on Thursday, January 29, at 9:30 a.m., sponsored by the Clark County Extension Homemakers. Cost of the workshop is $10. You must sign up by Jan. 12.

The Arkansas Rehabilitation Services will be in Gurdon on January 15 and 29 at the Gurdon Municipal Building from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. New applications are welcome.

The regular meeting of the Arkadelphia 2025 Commission has been rescheduled for Thursday, January 29, at 5:30 p.m. This meeting will be held jointly with the 2025 Task Force and will focus on project updates.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon.
