Brother Rickey Burke and his wife Nancy recently took their first plane trip and flew to Havelock, N.C., to visit their daughter and son-in-law, Christie and Shawn Cuthbertson, and grandchildren, Brayden, Ashley and the newest member, Shelby.

Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the Paul Harris family over the loss of a dear wife and mother, Faye.

George Howard and Jerri Haynie are vacationing in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Neil's sister, Jerri Davis, and niece, Janet Smart, from Stephens visited us on Sunday.

Julene and Willie Hulan visited her brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Audry Curtis, in Emerson on Sunday. Paul has just returned from the hospital.

Congratulations to a special couple in our community. Darren Neal and Kristi Hillery were married in a private ceremony on January 14 at Shady Grove Baptist Church. All our love and best wishes to them.

Congratulations to one of our own. The Tri-County Bass Club has named Danny Pennington the big Bass Angler of the year for 1997.

Congratulations, Zack and Zayne Otwell, for making the honor roll for the second nine weeks. Zack made straight A's and Zayne made all A's with the exception of one B+ in writing. Both also have perfect attendance thus far.
