Golden OldiesPublished Wednesday, January 21, 1998 in the Gurdon TimesBy Doris Vance The Valentine King and Queen contestants are working hard. Each couple is trying to get the most votes possible to win. One penny is a vote, and the money will go to the Gurdon Senior Adult Center. Valentine's Day will also be the 23rd anniversary of the Senior Adult Center in Gurdon. The center has reached many people over the years, and many services are provided that many people do not know about. We were closed Monday, January 19, for the Martin Luther King's birthday. Tuesday evening was dine-out night for the seniors. A trip to Mt. Ida Center is planned for Friday, January 23. We have been enjoying good food at the center. Meals are $1 for senior adults over 60. Anyone else can eat for $3.50. The Cover Girls are again quilting. We appreciate them so very much, as well as the rest of the volunteers. Make plans to come and join us, and enjoy visiting with your friends and make new ones. The center is a United Way Agency. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
