King's Birthday CelebratedPublished Wednesday, January 28, 1998 in the Gurdon TimesMt. Canaan Baptist Church celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Day Sunday January 18, during morning worship services. During the services the church honored Henry Bell, a long-time resident of Gurdon. A street has been named in his honor. He is a retired teacher and principal. Also honored was Delois Hodge, who is a retired teacher and current director of Clark County Development. They both were awarded certificates in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. All senior church members received certificates for their support of the church.
