In Our Time . . .Published Wednesday, January 28, 1998 in the Gurdon TimesBeirne Rural Fire Department is having a chili supper February 7 from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Beirne Fire Station. The cost will be $5 per plate and refills on chili only. There will be chili, drinks, Fritos, onions and desert. Come on out and support your local fire department. Everyone is welcome. The Arkansas Rehabilitation Services will be in Gurdon on January 29 at the Gurdon Municipal Building from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. New applications are welcome. The regular meeting of the Arkadelphia 2025 Commission will meet Thursday, January 29, at 5:30 p.m. This meeting will be held jointly with the 2025 Task Force and will focus on project updates. Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon. For information, phone 353-6138. Katarina Nicole Jones wishes to announce the birth of her baby brother, Seth Michel, on Saturday, January 10, 1998, weighing seven pounds, and eight ounces. He was 19 inches long. Parents are James and Amanda Jones of Gurdon. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. William Almond of Gurdon. Great grandmothers are Ruby Warren of Gurdon and Lucille Roach of Emmet. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. James B. Jones of Gurdon. Great grandfather is Pearlie Sias of Gurdon. The Festival of Two Rivers in Arkadelphia is accepting appli-cations for its 1998 Arts and Crafts Show. The festival will be April 10 and 11 in downtown Arkadelphia. Rental fee is $35 per 10x10 booth. Electricity is provided for those who wish to demonstrate their craft. This show is open to all handmade arts and crafts, pottery, ceramics, wood crafts, and jewelry. Interested persons may receive an application through the Arkadelphia Area Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 38, Arkadelphia, or by calling 870-246-5542. Deadline is March 15. Bethlehem Baptist Church will have a singing Saturday night, January 31, at 7:00.
