Levelized Billing Wanted

Published Wednesday, October 27, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune

Would you, the Picayune, kindly ask the Mayor and City Council if after buying all new computers for the city and city utilities if they can offer level payment for Prescott electric and water to help the elderly and poor?

If not, I am sure if they ask Entergy they would up grade the Prescott Electric and Water, too, software at no cost to the city as part of the payment for the city not taking bids for buying electricity that costs way over $10,000 per Act 812 of 1995, a law that says anything all cities must be submitted for bid. The reason the city of Prescott don't honor this law is they are in bed with Entergy and like buying two used backhoes without taking bids. We found out even after a state police investigation that the current, past, future assistant prosecuting attorney hasn't, won't and never will do anything to stop it, much less to hurt whoever is mayor.

Why don't you put a coupon in the paper for people to sign and drop off or mail to the Picayune asking the city for an election to vote on the 1 cent hospital city sales tax.

A second coupon to sign and drop off or mail to the Picayune ask for an election to make Prescott Water and Light a non-profit public utility with a base $5 charge plus 5.5 (5+ ) cents per KWH like Hope as they advertise on cable channel 13 KTSS. This would save the people of Prescott $1,428,000.

Every elderly and poor person would have the money to buy all their very needed medications and their needed food for balance meals. There might be enough left for a box of Little Debbie snack cakes.

We were paying Walt Denton $65,000 with unlimited expenses. How much are we paying the mayor's son-in-law, John Chadwell, with a master's degree of divinity with a bachelor's degree in missions as a major and a master in the New Testament from Harding (Church of Christ University) in Searcy. How much is the mayor's son-in-law worth?
