Classy Moments

Published Wednesday, February 4, 1998 in the Gurdon Times

We sure enjoyed the warm days last week and the beautiful sunshine. It had been so long since we had been able to go outside without getting wet or nearly freezing.

We enjoyed a program 'Acro-tumbling,' which provided us with entertainment by the guest, as well as several students taking part in the performance.

Progress reports will go out Thursday. It seems almost impossible that this is the mid-nine weeks of the third nine weeks period of this school year.

Citizen students of the month of January are Kyle Berline, a grader; Lynsey McKenize, a sixth grader; Kyle Holland, a seventh grader; and Shelliea Buck, an eighth grader. These students will accompany Mr. Alexander to a special pizza lunch.

Each grade has selected a king and queen candidate to represent their class for the GMS King and Queen contest for Valentine's Day. A vote is a penny, as this is a fund- raiser for the GMS Student Council. Voting will start Tuesday and end February 11. February 12 the crowning of the new "royal" couple will be conducted.

The Student Council will also be selling Luv Pops and Valentines. These can be purchased and will be delivered on the 12th, as we are scheduled to be out of school February 13 and 16, if we do not have to use those days for snow days.

We look forward to a good day and appreciate your concern for us as we continue to try to make you proud of our accomplishments and keep making those Classy Moments at GMS.
