SENIOR NIGHT Senior members of Gurdon's boys and girls basketball team were honored during the last regular home game of the year at Gurdon High School Friday night. Both teams responded by doing away with league rival Nevada. Both squads will have several players to replace for the 1998-99 season on the hardwood.

TURNING 100 Employees of International Paper Co. gathered to see a new flag raised over the company headquarters in Gurdon. The flag was specially designed for the company's 100th anniversary this year. Events to recognize this milestone will be held throughout the year.

SKELETON RISING The steel skeleton for the new Gurdon Middle School is being erected as weather permits this winter. So far, the W.E. Wright Construction Co. has had fairly good weather to work with, though there have been some problems with rain. Once the skeleton is in place, the walls will go up, followed by interior work to finish the project.
