Howard Jackson Ferguson

Howard Jackson Ferguson, 68, of Gurdon, died Tuesday, February 3, 1998.

He was a self-employed truck driver and worked for International Paper, where he was a manager. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Gurdon.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Ferguson of Gurdon; four daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Tommy Lewis of Caldwell, Texas, Jackie and Pat Phillips of Houston, Texas, Linda and Allen Hinze of Brenham, Texas, and Darlene and Jimmy Vogler also of Brenham, Texas; one stepdaughter, and son-in-law, Kathy and Ed Anderson of Gurdon; one brother, Jessie Nichols of Caushatta, La.; three sisters, Ada Mae Lewis of Taylor, Ida Reine of St. Admant, La., and Patricia Yaska of Shreve-port, La.; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, five great grand-children and one step great grand-child.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Taylor Nichols, his father, William O. Ferguson, a brother, J. W. Ferguson, a grandson, Leonard Martin Wellbrock Jr., and a granddaughter, Monica Phillips.

Funeral services were held Friday, February 6, at First Baptist Church of Gurdon. Burial was in South Fork Cemetery by Horne Funeral Home of Gurdon. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Gurdon.
