BoughtonMrs. Willie HooksPublished Wednesday, February 11, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune I went to my doctor in Texarkana Monday. He let the cast be taken off my leg, but I'm still having problems making it cooperate. It doesn't want to walk. Everyone is still being so nice to us. Cherrie and Katy Wilson brought us hamburgers Tuesday night. They were so good. Neil and Hazel Meeks brought banana pie for dessert. She does that often. My niece, Sue Austin, supported by my sister, Katie Pittman, brought a delicious dinner Thursday. Willie and Julene Hulan brought delicious soup Friday. Thanks so very much. Other visitors during the week were Bill Hooks, Thomas Que Johnson and William Formby, who checks on us for our son. Martha and Rouch Allison of Hamburg spent Wednesday night with her mother, Elsie Elmore. Harvey Allison spent Wednesday night with Cathryn and Pete Jester. They all had supper Wednesday night with Pete and Cathryn and Jimmy Joe. Kim and Kelsey Wren spent Friday night with Kay Wren. They all had breakfast Saturday morning with Doris Ridgell. Visitors of Chloe Orren other than family were Jason Anderson and Mrs. Wade Presley. Chloe visited Lela House Saturday. Lela House is home from the hospital again, but is still not doing too well. I would like to thank the Middler Sunday school class of my church (Shady Grove). They sent me a beautiful get well card signed by everyone. Sunday they sent me a Valentine sack of candies and a little card of thought: "Even before you work this morning God's thoughts were with you." They both meant so much to me. Bro. Danny Miller preached at Boughton Church Sunday. They had fellowship dinner at the church. Darlene and Breanna Young spent Friday night with Pete and Cathryn Jester and visited her grandmother, Elsie Elmore, Saturday. Marshall and Peggy Roper of Fort Worth, Texas, spent Sunday and Monday with her mother's sister, Katie Pittman, and Sue Austin. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
