Julianna Marie Bruno, the daughter of Buddy and Janice Carter of Prescott, has been named to the dean's list at Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Okla.

With a grade point average of 3.875 Bruno is a freshman majoring in music Education.

Dr. Don Dunnington, academic vice president of the college, said to be eligible for the dean's list a student must complete at least 12 credit hours with a 3.4 GPA and must have no incomplete courses or grades below a C.

Founded in 1899, Southern Nazarene University has an enrollment of over 1,800 under-graduate and graduate students. The university offers fully accredited degrees in more than 70 major areas of study.

Bruno is the granddaughter of Rev. and Mrs. Jack B. Lowe of Enid, Okla., and the great granddaughter of the late Ollie Otwell Mangold.

The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope will present a seminar entitled "Impact of Tax Law Changes of 1997" on February 17 at 7:00 p.m. in the college auditorium.

This seminar is designed to highlight recent changes in the tax code that will impact estate, retirement, and financial planning. The seminar will also deal with estate planning challenges for farmers/ranchers and owners of closely held family businesses. Learn how to navigate through the complicated changes in the internal revenue code.

Russell 'Rusty' Shope of Prescott has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.

To be eligible for this academic honor, a student must have at least a 3.5 grade point average.

Shope is a junior majoring in computer science at UCA. He is the son of Sandra Anderson Shope of Prescott.

Vicki Vasser and Kristi Coonrod, both of Prescott have been named to the dean's list at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville for the fall semester.

Chancellor John A. White and the University of Arkansas college deans 1,228 students were named to either the chancellor's list or the deans list.

Students named to the dean's list rank in the upper ten percent in their individual school or college.

Vasser is majoring in business administration and Coonrod is majoring in education and health professions.

Micah A. Lenox of Prescott was named to the dean's list at the University of Memphis for the fall semester.

Students on the list met one of the following criteria for the semester: completion of six to eight graded hours with a semester grade point average of 4.00; completion of nine to 11 graded hours with a minimum GPA of 3.66; or completion of 12 or more graded hours with a semester grade point average of 3.5 or above.
