Ward To Seek Council Seat AgainPublished Wednesday, February 18, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneKaren Ward has announced that she will seek reelection for Alderman from Ward Three in the city of Prescott. As a member of the City Council, according to a news release, Ward served on the planning and input forum for the development of the St. Michael health care facility now under construction. She also served on the budget committee of the council. This committee does the planning and distribution of sales tax monies. Ward is an active member of the Prescott-Nevada County Economic Development board. Other committee appointments include streets, water and sewer, civic and industrial, landfill, policy and administration and employee relations. "Economic development is our focus for 1998 and we are strategically planning for the future of Prescott," she said. "My commitment has been to attend meetings, prepared and informed," Ward said in her release. "The present council share in a vision of progress and a commitment to improve our economic base by making Prescott a desirable and competitive entity in today's industrial marketplace. "My interest and efforts will be to improve the quality of life for the residents of Prescott. I will strive to make informed decisions about our future and consider diverse views while keeping the 'big picture' in focus," she said.
