Glendene Cox Haynie

Glendene Cox Haynie, 84, of Prescott died Wednesday, October 20, 1999.

Mrs. Haynie was born August 12, 1915, in the Redland community to George Cox and Jewel Barham Cox. She was a homemaker, a member of Liberty Church of the Nazarene in the Redland and a member of Redland Extension Homemakers Club. She married Thurman Haynie in 1931. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Haynie, whom she married in 1931; her father and mother; one grandson, David Haynie; one granddaughter, Melissa Haynie; one great grandson, Zachery Haynes; and one brother, Barham Cox.

Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, George H. and Gerry Haynie of Hope; James and Merilyn Haynie of Magnolia; Doug and Deanna Haynie of Rogers and Earl and Kay Haynie of Prescott; one daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Delmar Tyree of Prescott; three brothers, Pershing Cox and George N. Cox of Prescott and Charles Cox of Ashdown; two sisters, Hazel Powell of Little Rock and Mary J. Powell of North Little Rock; 18 grandchildren; and 49 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were Saturday, October 23, at Liberty Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Betty Stinson and Vernon Hatton officiating. Burial esd in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Liberty Building Fund.
