James William Harris

James William Harris, 74, of Gurdon, died Wednesday, February 11, 1998.

He was a retired station agent for the Missouri Pacific and Union Pacific Railroads, a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and the Korean War, a 32nd degree mason, a Shriner, and a member of the V.F.W. and the First Baptist Church of Gurdon, where he taught the auditorium Sunday school class.

Survivors include his wife, Sybil Harris of Gurdon; a daughter and son-in-law, Dianna and Larry Bloomfield of Curtis; a brother, Edward Harris of Little Rock; two sisters, Jean Vogelgesand of North Little Rock, and Dorothy Cash of St. Louis, Mo.; two grandsons, Johnny and Jimmy; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services were held Saturday, February 14, at First Baptist Church of Gurdon. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Horne Funeral Home of Gurdon.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Gurdon.
