Gurdon Bands List Big DatesPublished Wednesday, February 25, 1998 in the Gurdon TimesHere are some important dates and information for the 'Mighty' Go-Devil Band. There will be a Gurdon Band Boosters meeting March 10, April 7 and May 5. The annual concert band contest will be March 19 or 20 at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia. A band fund-raiser will be held March 3-10. The Gurdon band will attend the SAU Concert Band Festival at Magnolia Thursday, March 5. Saturday, March 7, the band will have a bake sale at Piggly Wiggly in Gurdon. Every band parent will need to have a baked item there at 9:00 with a price on it. Bake a dozen cookies, some cupcakes or maybe a pie or your favorite cake. On April 17 and 18, the solo and ensemble contests will be held at De Queen. From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on May 2, a car wash at the AP&L building in Gurdon will be held. The band banquet will be held Thursday, May 7, in the high school cafeteria.
