Mattie AtkinsonPublished Wednesday, February 25, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneMattie Atkinson, 98, of Hope died Monday, February 16, 1998, in a Hope hospital. Mrs. Atkinson was born January 18, 1900, in Oklahoma, a member of Bodcaw #2 Baptist Church and a retired school teacher. Survivors include two nephews, James D. Atkinson of Magnolia and James V. May of Bodcaw; three nieces, Martha Ann Payne of Texarkana, Texas, Catherine Jane Price of Marlow, Okla., and Mary Edith Grant of Texarkana, Ark.; and numerous great and great great nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Thursday, February 19, at Bodcaw #2 Baptist Church with Bro. Ray Bowman officiating.
