Barfield PromotedBY JOHN MILLERPublished Wednesday, February 25, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune Cleve Barfield, 46, of Prescott was promoted from sergeant to the rank of lieutenant with the Arkansas State Police. Barfield, who has been working highway patrol for more than 20 years, will serve as the commander of ASP Co. C Criminal Investigation Division, based in Hope. Lt. Barfield is a 24-year veteran with the ASP. Capt. Ron Stovall, who worked with Lt. Barfield many years, said he was a tremendous attribute to the patrol division and is expected to continue being an asset to the investigation bureau. "I have all the confidence in the world he will do a good job with the criminal division," Capt. Stovall said. "I look forward to working with him in that capacity."
