PHS Boys Fall In 1st RoundPublished Wednesday, March 4, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe Prescott senior boys will miss this year's Class AA State Tournament at Drew Central after a first round loss to Dollarway. The Cardinals came out ahead, 71-59, in the Regional Four Tournament at Fountain Lake. The game was played on Wednesday last week. Dollarway held a 16-13 lead after one period, but Prescott had a 28-24 edge at halftime. By the end of the third quarter, the Cardinals had taken a 58-42 lead. Three players from each scored in double figures. Edward Glenn was Prescott's leading scorer with 20 points, five 2-pointers, three 3- pointers and 1 free shot. Scott Hobbs followed with 18 points nine 2-pointers for the Curley Wolves. Heath Gammage scored three 2-pointers and made 4 of 4 from the free throw line for 10 points. Others scoring for Prescott were Scott Graham with 5 points and Calvin Flemons, Joseph Dougan and Matt Brannan finished with 2 points each. Eric White led the Cardinals with 24 points, Everett Stocker scored 19 and Tyrone Bigson scored 13 for the winners. Prescott hit 8 of 10 free throws while Dollarway made 17 of 30.
