Ida Novelle EakinPublished Wednesday, March 4, 1998 in the Gurdon TimesIda Novelle Eakin, 82, of Chidester, died Sunday, March 1, 1998, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. Mrs. Eakin was born February 20, 1916, in Macedonia. She was the daughter of the late David Columbus and Lilly Mae Digby Hudson. She was a homemaker and a member of Dalark Baptist Church. She was the widow of Oscar Eakin. Survivors include three sons, Billy and Travis Dickey of Arkadelphia and Benny Dickey of Sparkman; one daughter, Ethel Mae Clements of Moore, Okla.; three brothers, Henry Hudson of Malvern, James Hudson of Austin, Texas, and L.B. Hudson of Camden; four sisters, Elmer Effird of Malvern, Virginia Kling of Hot Springs, and Annie Rucker and Katie Gilbert of Texarkana, Texas; 12 grand-children; and 11 great grand-children. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 3, at Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Hudson officiating.
