Voter registration forms are available at Gurdon City Hall in the City Recorder's office. If you need more information, call Tambra Smith at 353-2541. There will be a band fund-raiser March 3-10. All products ordered should be in around the 26th of March. The money will be used for the band to take a trip. Your help is needed in funding this educational and fun trip for the band members, Allen Wimberly, band director, said. Money is also needed for music and equipment needs as well as repairs, he said. First United Methodist Church of Gurdon will have its annual fish supper Thursday, February 27, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Takeouts are welcome. World Day of Prayer will be held Friday, March 6, at 6:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Gurdon. Everyone is invited to attend. World Day of Prayer has been sponsored by Church Women United for 110 years. The 111th World Day of Prayer program has been written by Christian Women of Madagascar. All churches are invited to attend. Revival services will be held at New Caney Baptist Church March 1-4. Sunday evening services will start at 6:00 p.m. Other services start at 7:00 p.m. Mike Edmondson will hold the services. An organizational meeting for the reunion of the class of 1978 will be held March 8 at 2:00 p.m. at 804 Beech in Gurdon. The group will begin making plans for a reunion this year. Lindsey Elise arrived at 11:31 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 1998, in St. Vincent's Infirmary. She weighed 6 pounds and 5 ounces and was 19 inches long. Lindsey was welcomed by grandparents, Clark Sidney and Carolyn Thomas and Charles and Joe Ann Shaver. Her great grandparents are Mrs. A.C. Plyler and Harry Thomas and honorary great grandmother Mrs. Etta Windham. First Assembly of God Church at 11th and Walnut Street in Arkadelphia will be in a revival March 8 through 11. Evangelist will be Nathen Rogers. Services began at 10:00 a.m. Potluck lunch will be served at noon. There will be a singing at 1:30 p.m. with Straight Up from Hot Springs as special guest. Arkansas Public Employment Retirement System will be bringing a retirement seminar to the Arkadelphia area March 5 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Henderson State University in the Ross Room at the Gasson Center. This seminar is for state, county, municipal and school employees who are members of APERS. The seminar will include a speaker from APERS, Social Security Administration and Estate Planning.
