Edith Shope Shackelford

Edith Shope Shackelford, 87, of Arkadelphia died Tuesday, February 17, 1998, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia.

She was born January 23, 1911, in Okolona, the daughter of the late William L. and Ursula Walsh Shope. She was a housewife, a member of the Smyrna Methodist Church and secretary of Smyrna Cemetery Association.

Survivors include her husband, G.E. (Shack) Shackelford; one sister Laura Dvoracek of Rockwall, Texas; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday, February 19, at Smyrna Methodist Church with Rev. Freeman Henderson officiating. Interment was in Smyrna Cemetery under the directions of Murry-Ruggles Funeral Home of Arkadelphia. Memorials may be made to the Smyrna Cemetery Fund.
