Golden OldiesDoris VancePublished Wednesday, October 20, 1999 in the Gurdon Times We had rather busy week of October 11-16. Bingo was played; we had show and tell; and the Musicmakers went to sing at the Twin Rivers Rehab Center. Mayor Rick Smith and Darlyn Potras spoke to the seniors about the plans for recycling our papers, glass, etc. National Park Medical Center gave blood pressure tests, blood sugar tests and flu shots. Tommy Hays and the square dancers were excited to dance. This week's main happenings are bingo on Monday, council meeting and dine out night on Tuesday and games and music the rest of the week. Several of our members are still unable to be out because of illness. We would love to have them back with us soon. We Cover Girls are still quilting. We are few in number, but we're getting the job done. We had several visitors last week. The center is a program of Central Arkansas Development Council and a United Way agency.
