A group from the Gurdon Senior Adult Center went to the Jonquil Festival at Old Washington State Park Saturday, March 7.

'Sweets for the sweet' has been celebrated at the Gurdon Center. Wednesday, March 4, was 'Kiss Me I'm Irish Day.' Mildred Ferguson was the one who had the most kisses Hershey Kisses. This was one of the fun times that the center has been enjoying. Rebecca Cooper, the activity director, has been working hard to have activities for the center. Her efforts are appre- ciated very much.

Thursday, March 5, the Sittin' Easy Club was attended by Mauvadine Caldwell, Beatrice Stafford, Emma Herron, Vivian Smith and Ann Boyce. Rebecca Cooper gave a demonstration on how to make chair cushions without sewing them. The goal is to make cushions for all the chairs at the tables. They will meet again on March 12. Rhonda Sharp, pollution information officer, gave a very interesting talk on the way our land is being polluted and what is being done to correct the problem. Everyone is going to have to do their share for this to be accomplished.

The March board meeting was held Tuesday, March 10. March 13 there will be some international students from OBU at the center. The center is a United Way Agency.

Everyone 60 or older may enjoy the fellowship, good meals and take part in the activities. There's a wonderful staff to help everyone in all the activities. If you enjoy delicious meals, the center has good cooks. If you know how to quilt, you will enjoy that also.
