Gurdon Band Wins

Published Wednesday, October 20, 1999 in the Gurdon Times

Twenty-five bands at the Ashdown marching contest, and only five had superior ratings all across the judging panel.

Only four could win best in class.

Gurdon High School's marching band did all that and a bag of chips, too.

Band earned superior. Drum major earned superior. Color guard earned superior. And the best band in class went to the Gurdon High School marching Go-Devil band.

"Tell the band members congrats this week," Allen Wimberly, band director at GHS, said. The band was to have performed Tuesday at the prestigious Governors Trophy marching contest in Beebe.
