Dedication For New Emmet Park Is Set

Published Wednesday, March 18, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune

The city of Emmet and citizens will honor the new city recreation park with a 'bring your favorite shrub' Friday, March 20, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the new park and Chuck Wagon near Noram (Arkla) Gas.

A special dedication program will begin at 5:00 p.m. with guest speakers as well as a special dedication from your favorite yellow bear and lion and Emmet's own Erin Eagle. The special guests that will be present will be available for picture taking, so bring your children and help dedicate the new park.

There will be someone available to help plant the shrubs. All the shrubs will be marked with name of donator and date.

If rose bushes are brought, bring the thornless type as for children will be playing near. Other shrubs may range from any low maintenance to not needing a lot of sun.

A concession stand, serving ham-burgers, hotdogs, nachos, Coke, etc., will be open from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. The concession is sponsored by Ladies of EVA.

All proceeds and donations will go toward the new park for additional equipment, pavilion pads and grills. Everyone is welcome.
