Emergency Program SetPublished Wednesday, March 18, 1998 in the Gurdon TimesThe Arkansas Jaycees and KTHV have teamed up to provide and coordinate community response to major emergencies or disasters. Whenever there is a disaster the Jaycees will coordinate with KTHV-11 to provide a wide range of relief efforts for the communities that are stricken by a major disaster. Linked statewide by local Jaycee chapters, the Arkansas Jaycees state program coordinator is Kenneth Harper of Gurdon. The Jaycees are informed of the needs of the communities hit by a disaster. The Jaycees are proud to be associated with a corporation of this caliber to better serve the community, Harper said. In the near future the Jaycees will be launching a new event called The Junior Goodwill Games. As the details come in they will be run in The Gurdon Times.
