There will be a softball and baseball booster club meeting April 2 at 7:00 at Gurdon City Hall. All interested parents and coaches need to attend. All sign-up forms must be turned in by April 1 in order to play.

Anyone wanting to vote in the Preferential Primary Election May 19 must register at least 30 days prior to that date. Voter registration forms are available at Gurdon City Hall in the City Recorder's office. If you need more information, call Tambra Smith at 353-2541.

Employees of Temple-Inland Wood Products in Hope have established an account for the family of Tim Riley of Gurdon. Riley died in an industrial accident on February 26. Contributions should be made to Citizens National Bank of Hope and will be used to support the family. The account number is 4231897.

A rock-a-than will be held March 27 at First Pentecostal church of God, 802 S. Third in Gurdon. For a donation, members of the congregation will rock (in a rocking chair) all night long from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The purpose of the rock-a-than is to raise money for a building fund project. Contact anyone at the church to donate.

There will be a meeting for the Southfork Cemetery Sunday afternoon, March 29, at 2:00.

Arkansas Rehabilitation Services will meet March 26 at Gurdon City Hall in conference room A from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. For more information, call 353-2514.

The fifth annual Sawmill Days Festival will be Saturday, April 11, in Sparkman. The event is sponsored by Sparkman Little League.

There will be crafters from several areas of the state as well as vendors with lots of good food. New this year will be rides and ponies for the kids, and a horseshoe tourna-ment. Proceeds from this contest will b going to Children's Hospital in Little Rock. Lots of entertainment throughout the day is scheduled.

All proceeds from the festival will be used for the Little League equipment and upkeep of the field.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon.

Narcotics Anonymous meets in Gurdon every Friday and Saturday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 206 East Main. For more information, call 353-6612.

Oak Grove Community Church is having a singing this Saturday night, March 28, at 7:00. Special guest will be Heaven Bound Trio, Everyone is invited to come out and hear a good singing. Refreshments will be served after church.
