Couple United In Double Ring CeremonyPublished Wednesday, March 25, 1998 in the Gurdon TimesFirst Baptist Church of Pine Bluff was the setting on March 21, for the afternoon wedding, uniting Jacqueline Topping of Walnut Ridge and Jason Mark Stinnett of Little Rock. The double-ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. David D. Crouch of Searcy. The bride is the daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Gordon J. Topping of Pine Bluff. She is the granddaughter of Mr. John Topping and the late Jessie topping of Glasgow, Scotland, and Mr. George Bowman and the late Elizabeth Bowman of Cowdenbeath, Scotland. The bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. J.L. Stinnett Jr. of Searcy. He is the grandson of Mrs. Louise Stinnett and the late J.L. Stinnett of Gurdon, and the late Cecil and Evelyn Scott also of Gurdon. Nuptial music was provided by Kathy Bowen, organist, and Buster Hall, bagpiper. Rebecca Partin and Rachel Startup sand "Holy, Holy, Holy" and "Jesus Stand Among Us." "The Lord's Prayer" was sung by Rev. Kim Bowen. "Praise to the Lord, the Almighty" was sung by the congregation. Family pews were marked with cascades of greenery with French ribbon bows. The main altar area featured twin arrangements of white roses, tulips, Stephanotis, Queen Ann's lace and Scottish heather. Lighted Ficus trees decorated the platform. Escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of candlelight delustered satin and imported Venice lace. The sculptured bodice was fashioned with a V-portrait neckline and fitted demi-sleeves. Pearls enhanced the lace motifs of the gown. The princess lines of the gown flowed into a gentle A-line silhouette, which swept into a full-court train. Her full length veil of English silk illusion was bordered with satin cording and secured by a pearl bandeau. She carried a cascade bouquet of open white roses, tulips, Stephanotis and white freesia with English ivy and Sottish heather. The maid of honor was Carolyn Topping of Jonesboro, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Pamela Greenway of Jonesboro, and cousins of the bride, Sandra Bowman of Cowdenbeath, Scotland, and Gwen Pollard of Perth, Scotland. They wore identical floor length gowns of thistle green crepe back satin. They were fashioned with an Empire bodice and A-line skirts. They carried nosegays of white roses, tulips, gladioli and Stephanotis. Allen Washburn of Little Rock served as best man. Groomsmen were Jeff Stinnett of Austin, Texas, brother of the groom, Jason Warrington of New Orleans, La., and Jason Taylor of Pine Bluff. Ushers were Greg Stinnett of Shimonoseki, Japan, brother of the groom, Jonathan Topping of Pine Bluff, brother of the bride, Erik Parker and Scott Smith, both of Little Rock. The groom and his attendants chose black tuxedos by Christian Dior. Stephen Watson of Walnut Ridge was ringbearer and Sydney Lambert of Walnut Ridge was flower girl. Mrs. William Fox served as wedding coordinator. The mother of the bride chose a petal peach tea length jacket dress of French crepe. The jacket featured corde embroidery. The mother of the groom chose a blush ivory tea length costume suit, featuring a Venice lace jacket worn over a crepe sheath dress. Both mothers wore corsages of white roses. The reception followed at Harbor Oaks Golf Club in Regional Park, Pine Bluff. Guests were piped into the reception area by Buster Hall, bagpiper. Tables draped in white linen cloths were placed throughout the area. Hurricane lamps tied with Scottish plaid ribbons were placed on each table. The bride's cake was a stacked four-layer confection with ivory frosting in a basket weave pattern. Fresh flowers similar to the bride's bouquet adorned the top and sides of each layer. The groom's cake was chocolate with chocolate frosting in a basket weave pattern decorated with fresh strawberries. Honored wedding guests were the grandfathers of the bride, John Topping of Glasgow, Scotland, George Bowman of Cowdenbeath, Scotland, and the grandmother of the groom, Mrs. Louise Stinnett of Gurdon. After a wedding trip, the couple will reside in Little Rock until May after which they will move to Salt Lake City, Utah, where the groom will begin residency training in internal medicine at the University of Utah Medical Center.
