Jamie T. Prince, a 1995 graduate of Emmet High School, recently received a Certificate of Commendation while assigned with Marine Wing Support Squadron 373, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Corps Air Station E. Toro, Santa Ana, Calif.

Prince was recognized for his superior performance of duty. Displaying remarkable dedication and initiative, Prince consistently performed his demanding duties in an exemplary and highly professional manner, according to a news release from Fleet Home Town News Service.

Prince is an essential part of today's naval forces as they shift focus away from long- distance war at sea to handling the challenges of regional conflicts affecting U.S. interests.

Whether helping provide humanitarian assistance and disaster-relief or projecting power ashore and providing forward presence, Marines like Prince are making a difference as they work assigned to squadrons, battalions, ships, or shore commands around the world. Prince is not only improving his knowledge and skill, but is serving as part of the most highly technical naval force in history.

Jamie Prince joined the Marine Corps in May 1995.
