Sam MarburyPublished Wednesday, October 20, 1999 in the Gurdon TimesSam Marbury, 80, died Thursday, October 14, 1999, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. Mr. Marbury was born April 15, 1919, in Clark County, the son of the late Charlie Elmer and Sadie Malone Marbury. He was a retired welder, farmer and carpenter, a lifelong resident of the Shiloh community and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Mr. Marbury was preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie Sue Rowe Marbury. Survivors include one daughter, Patsy Sutton of Hot Springs; three sons, Carroll Marbury of Fayetteville, Larry Marbury of Louann, and Jon Marbury of Prescott; two sisters, Sallie Marbury and Jo Nell Marbury both of Arkadelphia; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services were Saturday, October 16, at the Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel with Rev. Freeling Clower officiating. Internment was in Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia. Memorials may be made to the Shiloh Cemetery Fund, c/o Carolyn Ham.
