Published Wednesday, March 25, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune

The Rose Garden Club met in the home of Anice Ward on March 17 at 1:30 p.m. with Pauline Hays as co-hostess.

President Betty Turner presided over the business meeting. She read a letter from the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce beautification committee encour-aging the planting of trees in the downtown area on both sides of the railroad tracks. The club members voted to purchase two ginkgo trees to be planted in the area. Also the members were asked to donate clumps of daffodil bulbs that the Agri boys will plant.

The members voted for the current officers to serve for 1998-1999.

Ann Pounds presented an interesting program on 'Using the Bounty Around Us to Decorate with.' She made holiday arrangements using material gathered in the yards and woods, such as buckeye, sweet gum balls, etc. She made two Easter trees from hand blown eggs to be placed in the entrance of both nursing homes for the patients to enjoy during the Easter season.

Ann showed the members many useful ideas on decorating for the various holiday seasons.

Allene Spencer and Betty Avery brought pretty bouquets of spring daffodils.

The hostesses served a delicious dessert.
