Groundbreaking SetPublished Wednesday, October 20, 1999 in the Gurdon TimesOn April 26 a storm with straight line winds toppled a large tree onto the Trinity United Methodist Church in Okolona. The church was crushed with only a small section towards the back still standing. Because of the need for a new building and because of the damage, the church has decided erect a new building. There will be a ground breaking Saturday, October 23, for the new structure. The ceremony will be at 2:00 p.m. with a small reception to follow. Everyone is invited.
